INTENDED BETA
Climbing is a process. This is a place to share what helps along the way.
From your first session to your latest project, good beta gives you something new to try. Take what works for you, leave what doesn't, and keep learning.
Start with your feet
Look for footholds before moving your hands. Place your feet deliberately, then use your legs to push upward instead of relying entirely on your arms.
Keep your hips close
On steeper walls, think about how your body position affects your reach. Turning a hip toward the wall can help you stay balanced and make the next move feel easier.
Read the route
Before leaving the ground, look at the holds and imagine a possible sequence. Identify places to rest and moves that may need extra attention. Your first plan doesn't have to be your final one.
Rest with purpose
Taking breaks is part of a good climbing session. Give yourself time to recover between hard attempts rather than rushing back onto the wall.
Try a different approach
When a move isn't working, change one thing. A different foot placement or body position might unlock it. Pay attention to what each attempt teaches you.
Climb responsibly
Warm up gradually, check your landing area, and follow your gym's safety rules. For roped climbing, use appropriate instruction and partner checks. Never attempt a risky move just because someone else's beta worked for them.
The fall is part of the journey.
